God's Way, Not Ours!

Theme: God’s ways are always higher, better, and best. Each season requires us to seek Him afresh for wisdom, strategy, and direction.
1. God’s Ways Are the Best
- Isaiah 55:8–9: God’s thoughts and ways are higher than ours.
- Life has seasons of joy and pain, but God’s love remains constant.
- Nothing we do can make God love us more or less—His love is unchanging.
Application: Rest in the truth that God’s plan is always the best, even when it feels unclear.
2. Every Battle Requires Fresh Strategy
- David faced the Philistines twice (2 Samuel 5):
- First time: direct confrontation.
- Second time: a new strategy—circle around and wait for the sound in the balsam trees.
- Yesterday’s method may not solve today’s problem.
- Financial, relational, and personal battles require fresh inquiry of the Lord.
Application: Don’t rely on old formulas. Ask God daily for fresh wisdom.
3. Inquire of the Lord Daily
- To inquire = seek, ask, and depend on God’s direction.
- Leaders like Moses, Samuel, Jehoshaphat, and David all inquired of the Lord.
- Today’s issues may look similar to yesterday’s, but God may provide a new approach.
Application: Develop the habit of asking, “Lord, what is it You want me to do in this situation?”
4. Avoid Wrong Thinking
- Some think bad things happen because they didn’t pray, tithe, or perform enough religious duties.
- God does not punish His children with accidents or hardship.
- He loves us by grace and provides even what we didn’t ask for.
Application: Live in grace, not guilt. God’s discipline restores, not destroys.
5. Receiving Daily Manna
- Manna means “What is it?”—a reminder of God’s fresh provision.
- Each new season requires us to ask afresh, “Lord, what do You want me to do now?”
- There is no retirement in God’s Kingdom—only re-firing into new assignments.
Application: Expect God’s fresh provision and direction every day.
6. Beholding God’s Presence
- Psalm 27:4: David longed to inquire of the Lord in His temple.
- To behold = pause, be still, admire, and receive God’s perspective.
- Isaiah 43:19: “Behold, I am doing a new thing… rivers in the desert.”
Application: Slow down in prayer—not just asking, but beholding God’s presence and listening for His new direction.
Practical Applications
- Inquire of the Lord daily, especially in major decisions.
- Don’t rely only on past experiences—seek fresh strategies.
- Reject guilt-based thinking; rest in God’s grace.
- Receive daily manna—His fresh Word and direction.
- Pause to behold God in worship and prayer.
Reflection Questions
- When was the last time you truly inquired of the Lord before making a decision?
- What old strategies are you still relying on instead of seeking God’s new way?
- How can you cultivate the habit of receiving daily manna from God?
- What does “beholding the Lord” look like in your personal prayer life?
Closing Call
“Don’t get stuck in yesterday’s formula. God has the best plan for today. Inquire of Him daily, behold His presence, and walk in His higher ways—because His ways are always the best.”
